Ssangyong E&C Names Kim In-soo New Co-CEO, Transitioning to a Dual CEO System

2023-07-05

Ssangyong E&C announced on July 5 that the company had appointed Kim In-soo as its new CEO following the board’s decision on June 23.

With this move, Ssangyong E&C has launched a dual CEO system headed by the existing CEO, Kim Ki-myung, and the new CEO, Kim In-soo. Under the new system, the former will be responsible for collaboration with the Global Sae-A Group, whereas the latter will oversee the company’s overall operations.

“After welcoming the Global Sae-A Group as our new majority shareholder, Ssangyong E&C has been normalizing management operations via financial restructuring while striving to create synergies by bolstering our bidding competitiveness. To this end, we have made the decision to adopt a dual CEO system,” a Ssangyong E&C official said. “Under this system, the two CEOs will collaborate closely and fine-tune ideas when making major corporate decisions.”

With more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry, the new CEO is considered an expert engineer with diverse field and office experience. In 1978, he began his career in the industry at Hyundai E&C, where he served in various positions, including as head of the Architecture Division (Senior Vice President), Executive Vice President in charge of the Hyundai Global Business Center (GBC) construction project, and Advisor. He joined Ssangyong E&C as President in January this year.
