Ssangyong Engineering official wins award from Prime Minister

2008-06-19

Lee Jong-seop, a general manager of Ssangyong Engineering and Construction Co., won an award from the Prime Minister on June 19 for his work to build a tap water facility in Seoul’s neighboring area. Lee served as head of the construction team for the facility at the 6-1 site in the area between February 2001 and December 2002. At that time, Lee was credited with building the high-quality facility by using proper raw materials and thoroughly monitoring the facility before and after construction. In addition, Lee was honored for making the facility that allows people to economically and smoothly manage it.

What’s more, Lee had frequently met residents in the construction area amid a potential resistance from the residents because the project laid water-pipes underground. By persuading the residents to understand the project, there were no complaints from the residents during the constriction.

Meanwhile, the facility at the 6-1 site in the area, which was completed in December 2004, was designed to supply tap water to people in the cities of Hanam, Seongnam, Pyeongtaek and Osan. Ssangyong Engineering was chosen as a prudent builder in 2003 and a best builder in 2004 by the project’s client, Korea Water Resources Corp.
