Ssangyong Engineering executive wins presidential award

Kim Kang, executive vice president of Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Co., won a presidential award at a ceremony marking the “2007 Day” of Housing Construction.”

On Dec. 6, Kim won the award for his work on improvement of home quality and customer satisfaction. Last year, he established a project planning team to carry out research and development projects on home design and living trends. In addition, he frequently visited new home construction sites to get advice from monitoring agents, mostly housewives. With such contributions, he has won a number of awards so far this year, including the Living Service Grand Award, the Good-to-Live Apartment Award, and the Korea Architecture Award.

What’s more, Kim has organized an annual event to exchange technology and reflect it in design and construction. He also gained credits in contributing the development of the local construction industry by playing roles in various construction-related academic communities.

Meanwhile, about 800 dignitaries attended the ceremony. The participants included Lee Yong-seop, Minister of Construction and Transportation and Shin Hoon, chairman of the housing association. Another 57 people were also awarded for their roles in the development of local housing construction.
