Groundbreaking ceremony to launch project to expand sewage treatment facilities for section 1 of upper stream of Daecheong Dam

SsangYong E&C held a groundbreaking ceremony on October 31, 2006 to launch a project to expand sewage treatment facilities for section 1 (the worksite chief: General Manager Kim Seung-Gu) of the upper stream of Daecheong Dam at Okgak-ri, Okcheon-myeon, Okcheon-myeon, North Chungcheong Province.

The project brought together some 250 people, including officials related to water supply and sewage systems such as Sohn Joo-Seok, President of the Environment Management Corp., and Han Yong-Taek, the chief of the Okcheon-gun county office, and SsangYong’s Senior Vice President Seo Ho-Mo//, and chiefs of worksites nearby. The event started with a ritual to pray for safety, followed by a progress report, welcoming remarks by the Okcheon-gun chief, congratulatory remarks by the EMC chief, ceremonial shoveling, and finally, a reception.

The project entails amending or repair of nine existing sewage treatment facilities, and constructing drainages for 54 villages and sewage pipelines extending a total of 232 km in an area around Boeun-gun, North Chungcheong Province and Sangju City, North Gyeongsang Province. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2010. The groundbreaking took place in October 2006.
