Ssangyong Engineering & Construction is to start the construction of the highest premium 500 room landmark hotel and 120 room condominium in 2013!

Ssangyong, based on a proven track record and reputation of luxurious hotel construction around the world, is to build the palatial, 6-star, Conrad Hilton Hotel, in Busan City, Korea. A hotel that will balance the beauty and scenery of the Busan seaside!

Ssangyong is to apply its long-standing, historical construction know-how from Marina Bay Sands Hotel and numerous high-end hotels of more than 13,000 rooms, to the Conrad Hilton Hotel!



Ssangyong Engineering & Construction, acclaimed as one of the finest global construction corporations, will begin the construction of the 6-star Conrad Hilton Hotel in Busan City, Korea.

A spokesperson at Ssangyong has recently issued a statement that the corporation was confirmed as the constructor for the Conrad Hilton Hotel that includes approximately a 90,000 square meters wide total ground floor, to be established inside the Mt. Dongbu Tourism Complex, and to be fitted with 500 hotel rooms and 120 condominium rooms.

On 12 September, the Busan Metropolitan Corporation, the project operator of the Mt. Dongbu Tourism Complex, signed this project agreement with Conrad Hilton Consortium, which is the Conrad Hilton hotel development project implementer.

This Conrad Hilton Consortium includes Ssangyong Engineering & Construction, Emerson Pacific, a management firm of resort facilities development, Seong Chang Civil Engineering and Construction, who are a Busan-based local builder, and PCA, a Japanese financial company.

The Conrad Hilton, scheduled to be built as the highest premium, 6-star hotel, will take the best advantage of its neighboring seaside construction site, and the Conrad Hilton, will have a 'Castle on Sea' concept. It is a hotel that will be established as a landmark hotel in Korea, a hotel that balances with its surroundings, landscape, scenery and natural environment of forest and seashore rocks.

The Conrad Hilton will consist of 4 hotel buildings and 3 condominium buildings (the highest 9-story from the ground level) and will be terrace-structured and take into consideration the strikingly fine view of the sea views from the rooms. In addition, the Sky Pool and restaurant, open-air theater, gallery, outdoor hot spring, spa, kids academy, conference hall, and a wide variety of guest-friendly facilities will be affiliated to Conrad Hilton to serve as functions of the general hotel and the premium level resort facilities fitted with spa, health-improving, medical, and leisure-related facilities.

Busan City initially hoped Conrad Hilton would be constructed to be a landmark in the same way as the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore and the Emerson Pacific are. The lead management firm Conrad Hilton Consortium, suggested Ssangyong, be the constructor of the Marina Bay Sands, and to engage as the builder in the current hotel construction project.

The budget to conduct this project is expected to run up to 210 billion Korean Won. After the land purchase contract, hotel lay-out and design, and licensing procedures have gone through and are all cleared, the construction of the Conrad Hilton will begin in the second half of 2013 and the hotel is scheduled for construction completion in 2015.

Mt. Dongbu Tourism Complex, which will be established on about a 36.60 million square meter wide land site at Gijang-eup, Gijang County in Busan City, will be built with a theme park, resort, culture, accommodation, and commercial facilities. A budget of 5 trillion Korean Won will be invested into this Mt. Dongbu Tourism Complex project.
