2012-01-16

Twenty-two new employees of SsangYong E&C(Chairman & CEO Kim, S. Joon) are all college graduates and are about to join the company in the first half of this year. From January 5th to 6th, they experienced a Marine boot camp in Muuido, a west-coast island located in Joong-gu, Incheon-si.
During the camp, the new employees experienced tough boot camp training, including a close-order drill, a Marine PT workout, an IBS(Inflatable Boat Small) training session on sea, air, and land, and rappelling training where the new employees jumped from an 11.3-meter-high cliff, which is a terrifying height for most people.
Lee, Suck Hyeon, aged 29, was one of the new employees. When asked for his thoughts after finishing the boot camp, he said, "Through the Marine boot camp, I was more motivated as a new employee and we could foster a strong sense of camaraderie and trust among our team. As 2012 is the year of the Black Dragon, I believe the dragon will help us stay motivated and we will do our best in work so that we can contribute to the development of the company.
Since 2006, SsangYong E&C has implemented this program called 'Marine Boot Camp Training - challenge your limitations!' for its new employees to strengthen teamwork, to foster a challenging spirit and to cultivate employee's loyalty to the company.
