Company magazine ‘SsangYong E&C’ wins grand prize in Korea Communications Award

Company magazine “SsangYong E&C” has won the grand prize in the editing category of “2006 Korean Communications Award,” which is the only and most authoritative prize in the area of corporate magazines. The prize was awarded at the National Press Center on December 12, 2006.

The Korea Communications Award, which marks its 16th anniversary this year, is presented by the Korea Business Journalism (magazine) Association to promote good corporate culture and to help improve the quality of company bulletins, which serve as a key communications tool for enterprises. The award is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Federation of Korean Industries.

The SsangYong E&C magazine, with the catchphrase “Cheering and moving stories of SsangYong E&C families,” has been seeking to bolster in-house communication and boost morale among staff through various stories and columns that are contributed by readers. These include “Kids Ski Camp,” a special section for employees’ children; “Manito” which tries to help out or offer surprise events to colleagues without their knowledge, “Image Consulting” which allows each staff members to receive professional consulting on business etiquette; and “Garden of Happiness,’ which aims to provide a time of happiness through family vacations.

Also, “2006 Year-round campaign - Share 1 percent of hope,” a charitable campaign featured in the magazine, highlighted hardships and suffering of underprivileged teenagers, and elderly shut-ins around worksites nationwide. The campaign made 3 million won in charitable donations to share love and hope with the underprivileged.
