SsangYong awarded best advertisement award by newspapers

2006-12-07

Corporate advertisements of SsangYong E&C “Sky over Singapore,” and “Flowers in Desert of Dubai,” and an ad for SsangYong Yega Complex 2 in Jangyu have earned prizes of best advertisement awards presented by a total of 11 newspapers.

The corporate advertisements won six prizes for 2006, including ▲ the grand prize in the overseas construction category from the Asia Economy newspaper (Nov. 17), ▲ the visual award in the main awards of the Seoul Shinmun daily (No. 22) ▲ the second prize in the corporate PR category from the Segye Times (Nov. 23), ▲ the grand prize in the construction category from the Kyunghyang Daily (Nov. 24) ▲ and the gold prize in the construction category from the Maeil Business Newspaper (Dec. 7), and ▲ the grand prize in the construction category from the Korea Economic Daily (Dec. 7).

The ad on SsangYong Yega Complex 2 in Jangyu, South Gyeongsang Province, won five prizes for 2006, including ▲ the grand prize in the apartment category from the Hankuk Ilbo newspaper, ▲ the prize in the marketing category from the Herald Business newspaper (Oct. 31), ▲ the customer satisfaction award from the Financial News (Nov. 15), ▲ the second prize in the real estate category from the Munhwa Ilbo Daily (Nov. 24), ▲ and the second prize in the construction category from Money Today (Nov. 24).

SsangYong had not published corporate ads to enhance the company image for a long time. But the Company published two corporate advertisements simultaneously to promote itself as a leading player in overseas construction, including “The Singapore Episode,” and “The Dubai Episode.” The ads give detailed accounts of SsangYong’s status in overseas construction by highlighting key records and performance, coupled with interesting stories from each country.

Main visuals in the ads feature the integration of the respective symbols of Singapore and Dubai with Raffles City, which was listed in the Guinness Book as the world’s tallest hotel building for 10 years (nicknamed the Pride of Singapore for a long time), and with the Emirates Tower Hotel, which is one of the three biggest hotels in Dubai.

SsangYong Yega Complex 2 in Jangyu describes the spacious look and feel of the large apartment complex with 1,109 units consisting primarily of large-sized units using a calligraphy drawing, which produces the beauty of margin. Thus, the ad effectively communicates, through the harmony of tradition and modernity, the identity of the “SsangYong Yega” brand, which works to generate artistic and cultural space, beyond the simple function of living space.

Meanwhile, SsangYong had won prizes in the best advertisement awards from a total of 14 newspapers with ads for the public sales of apartments and office spaces in New Bongdam SsangYong Yega, and Bucheon Technopark Complex 3 in 2005.
