Groundbreaking ceremony launches section 1 of Noryangjin New Town project

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on December 14, 2006 to launch section 1 of the Noryangjin New Town project at the worksite in Noryangjin, Dongjak-gu ward.
The event brought together some 500 people, including Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, and Dongjak ward the chief Kim Woo-Joong, as well as Choi Jang-Shik, the head of Building Business & Construction Division , Senior Vice President Kim Kang, and Director Lee Dae-Ha at SsangYong. The event involved a progress report, which was followed by remarks by the head of the cooperative for the urban development project, welcoming remarks by the Dongjak ward the chief, a congratulatory speech by the Seoul Mayor, and the commemorative groundbreaking.
The moderator said during the ceremony that “SsangYong E&C, which is responsible for the project, is widely known as a builder of superior project quality, as evidenced by the fact that it recently won the overall grand prize in the Korea Civil Engineering and Construction Award.” The moderator added that “We firmly believe that SsangYong will construct apartments of the highest quality in the Noryangjin New Town project, living up to our strong trust in the Company.”
The section 1 of the Noryangjin New Town involves the construction of 295 apartments, including 72 units of 23-pyeong (75 sq. meters) flat, 49 of 25-pyeong (82 sq. meters) flat, 133 of 33-pyeong (108 sq. meters) flat, and 41 of 44-pyeong (145 sq. meters) flat. They will be made available for sale to the public in August 2007.
