Ssangyong’s “Sound Zero Plus” received government recognition

2005-12-01

Ssangyong E&C’s heat and sound-insulating material was nominated as an innovative technology by the government on November 8, 2005, the company said.

“Sound Zero Plus,” an improved version of the previous “Sound Zero,” has been used in constructing apartments since its development in 2003, the company noted.

Made of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, rigid urethane foam and other components, the material performs very well in blocking sound and heat between floors, the company explained.

The company also said that it successfully streamlined the process of making the material, which contributed to shortening the overall construction period.

With the nomination, Ssangyong will have a total of five innovative technologies in such sectors as electricity, new materials and construction.
