2005-12-01

A consortium led by Ssangyong E&C announced that it has clinched a KR\ 135.8 billion bid for building sewage systems from the state-run Environment Management Corporation on November 9, 2005.

The consortium, consisting of Ssangyong, POSCO, Samsung Engineering, and other developers, said it received the highest points during the bidding process to win the contract.

Under the deal, the consortium said it would build and improve the sewage systems located in the upper part of Daechoeong Dam on a turn-key basis.

The contract involves building waste-water treatment facilities, while improving drainage systems.
Ssangyong said that winning this contract represents its first advance into the turn-key project in the environmental sector. The project will be completed in 37 months from the commencement, the company said.
