Garnering two of the World’s three most renowned design awards following the iF (International Forum) Design Award design award of Germany ㆍ receiving two awards at once in the field of product design.

Emergency lighting in the common area was received well for its design along with safety.
The Bicycle Rack & Lock system, that utilizes dead space, was recognized well for its practical design.

SsangYong Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. (Chairman & CED Kim, S. Joon) announced that its products have won the most coveted design award, the iF Product Design Award last year, and more recently, the Red Dot Design Award 2012.

Emergency Lighting in common space and the Bicycle Rack & Lock, winning two of the world’s top design awards, can be practically applied in the apartment house buildings.

In case of emergency, such as fire or power outages, LED flashlights in an exit sign are designed to be used as emergency lighting, pulling apart from the sign. It was praised for its practical and thoughtful design that considers residents’ safety.

The Bicycle Rack & Lock enables installation of a public bicycle stand in the dead space of an apartment complex. It received high marks on practicality because more people are riding bicycles and it makes small space more efficient.

Park, Yoon Seop, Senior Director of the Department of Architecture and Building Technology said, “Our products won two of the world’s top three design awards at its first submission,” and he added “Our products’ safety and practicality are recognized by the awards and will be applied in the housing that we will sell down the road.

Meanwhile, the Red Dot Design Award, hosted by the Reddot Design Museum, the iF of Germany, and the International Design Excellence Awards are recognized as the World’s top three awards.
