Ssangyong E&C CEO to celebrate New Year with the employees working overseas

Since his inauguration, CEO Kim has visited the company’s overseas construction sites to celebrate holidays together with the employees.
CEO Kim is to meet with the CEO of top Indian companies to win more construction projects in order to expand further into the Asian market.

Kim S.joon, Chairman & CEO of Ssangyong E&C. spends the New Year holidays with employees overseas, visiting the company’s highway construction site in India from December 27th, 2011 to January 1st, 2012.
CEO Kim has spent the New Year holidays at the construction site for the past 6 years, in order to cheer up the employees who are working in a remote and isolated place who are building a 180km long highway. (The highway construction site is 5 hours travel from the city of Nagpur, a mid-sized city in India.)
CEO Kim will celebrate New Year’s Eve and have dinner together with the employees to help relieve their homesickness.
Since he was inaugurated as CEO in 1983, he has traveled to the company’s overseas construction sites to spend New Year holidays with the company employees. He believes that it is important to boost the spirits of the employees who often struggle to adjust in a foreign country.
In 1992, he switched (suggested change: switched to "he had 5 flight transfers) 5 flights in one day to visit a plant construction site in Iran. In 1986, during the Chuseok holiday (Korean thanksgiving) he traveled 54 hours by plane and car to visit 10 construction sites in 3 different countries.
Also, CEO Kim S.joon will meet with the CEOs of top Indian companies to win more construction projects. After he comes back on the 1st of January, he will mull over ways to expand further into overseas markets, including the Asian market that is expected to grow 8 to 10% this year.
