The construction site (site director: Bae Jong-woo) of Shindong-Gasa Road, which is constructed by Ssangyong Engineering and Construction, received an award from the Minister of Land, Transport, and Maritime Affairs on December 31. The site earned high marks as staffers at the site preemptively prevented various accidents and resolved civil complaints by checking risk factors in advance, and thus conducted the project successfully, even though traffic volume surges at the site during vacation and ski seasons.

On the same day, the site’s assistant general manager Choi Hyung-soo also won a prize from the head of the Wonju Regional Construction and Management Administration for his contribution to the development of land and maritime affairs.

The project entailed the construction and expansion of a 5.18 km-long section from Yemi-ri, Shindong-eup, Jeongseon-gun, Gwangwon, on National Road 38. The project, which kicked off in October 2003, was completed in December last year.
