Ssangyong Engineering sweeps 15 advertising awards

A total of 15 newspapers honored Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Co. for its corporate advertising campaign, titled “We Build a Bigger Republic of Korea outside the Republic of Korea.”

It’s the first time Ssangyong Engineering won advertising awards from the 15 newspapers. This year, Ssangyong Engineering overtook two bigger rivals _ Samsung Corp.’s construction unit with 14 awards for its ad “Go to Buzz Dubai” and Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. with 13 awards for its ad “Hill State.”

The list of the newspapers granting the awards to Ssangyong Engineering are: The Seoul Economic Daily (Oct. 25), The Hankook Ilbo (Oct. 26), The Herald Business (Oct. 31), The MoneyToday (Nov. 8), The Financial News (Nov. 14), The Asia Business (Nov. 15), The Hankyoreh (Nov. 21), The Kyunghyang Shinmun (Nov. 22), The Seoul Shinmun (Nov. 23), The Sports Chosun (Nov. 20), The Segye Times (Nov. 27), The Munhwa Ilbo (Nov. 28), The Kukmin Daily (Nov. 30), The Maeil Business (Dec. 6) and the Korea Economic Daily (Dec. 12).

This year’s corporate advertising campaign by Ssangyong Engineering reflected the company’s will to upgrade South Korea’s status overseas by building luxurious buildings around the world. By depicting the Emirates Tower Hotel, one of three famous hotels in Dubai built by Ssangyong Engineering, the ad campaign naturally appealed to the general public.

In the meantime, Ssangyong Engineering won advertising awards from 11 newspapers last year with its two corporate ad campaigns titled “Sky of Singapore” and “Flower in Dubai Desert.”
