Ssangyong E&C wins 13 intellectual property rights for apartment designs

Ssangyong E&C (Chairman Kim Suk-Joon) simultaneously won a total of intellectual property rights (IPRs) for apartments with different designs for the interior and exterior of apartments, depending on region, customers’ age and size.

It is the first time that an apartment builder has ever used different designs for the interior and exterior of the housing, reflecting region, customers’ age and the level of their income.

At first, Ssangyong E&C plans to build classical apartments, featuring classical stones and pillars, in Seoul’s affluent housing areas for high-income customersof their 40s and 50s.

For Seoul’s neighboring areas and local cities, Ssangyong E&C plans to build modern apartments, blended with simple designs and colors, for middle-income customers of their 30s and 40s. For new towns and satellite cities, the company will build high-tech apartments with cubic effects for the customers of their 30s.

In addition, Ssangyong E&C plans to build two types of 34-pyeong apartments with 4~4.5 bay design, featuring roomier storage space that separates the kitchen and living room from the children’s space. Features of another two types of 48-pyeong apartments include a gallery wall from door to living room, a wooden floor and multipurpose balcony .

For a 58-pyeong type, the apartment will provide a gallery wall from door to living room and a wider view for housewives, including a wooden floor and a multipurpose balcony. A 69-pyeong type features a design for a three-generation family.

Lim Seong-jae, the manager of Ssangyong E&C’s Product Planning Team, said, “Following a competition of brands, it’s time for a design competition.” “Beyond the previous uniform designs, the era of customized, one-to-one marketing is coming,” Lim said.
