In India, Third National Highway awarded to Ssangyong-OSE J/V

On January 12, 2001, Ssangyong E&C in joint with an Indian contractor, Oriental Structural Engineers (OSE) has been awarded Third National Highway NH-2 (Package IV-D), a Rs. 2,180 mil (equivalent to U$ 46.5 mil) project financed by World Bank (IBRD) from the National Highway Authority of India.

The project scope covers strengthening 40 km of the existing 2 lane to 4 lane in the Bihar state. The construction period is 36 months from the date of commencement.

In spite of tough competitions from the leading contractors of foreign and local groups, Ssangyong has been finally selected as the main contractor owing to the client''''''''s confidence on its successful records in quality and reliability shown through the execution of ongoing Second National Highway project NH-3, MP-1 also teamed up with OSE in the Madhya Pradesh state, India.
