Ssangyong E&C becomes the contractor for Kyungeui Railway Sec.2, a U$ 66 million project.

On December 8, 2000, Ssangyong E&C, as the leader of four contractors-group, has been awarded the construction of Roadbed for Double Electric Tracks of Kyungeui Railway Sec.2 (Yongsan-Moonsan) with the contract sum of Korean Won 79.8 billion (equivalent to U$ 66 million ) from the Korean National Railroad Authority.
The project comprises 13 bridges (L: 1,470 m), 5 depots and 3 flyovers and its total length is 9,960 meter starting from Gajwa-dong, Seoul City through up to Hangshin-dong, Kyunggi Province. The construction period is 1,460 days from the date of commencement.
The project is aiming at reinforcing the transportation capacity in compliance with increasing future demand for the transportation northward, triggered by the new city development of the western part of the Seoul Metropolitan area.
