SsangYong E&C launched an annual zero accident flag relay campaign!

2012-04-02

The first annual relay campaign in the industry will reach 36 sites for one year and is expected to have marked effects thanks to the participation of workers and partners. The zero accident flag will stay in each site for one week, and safety management in the site will be intensified for a month.

“Zero Construction Safety Accident This Year!”
SsangYong E&C (led by Chairman & CEO, S. Joon, Kim) set the safety goal of no construction-site accidents this year, and started to launch massive campaigns designed to prevent accidents and raise awareness about safety including a one-year “Zero Accident Flag Relay Campaign” for domestic construction sites.

On March 12, the Zero Accident Flag Relay Campaign was launched from the Yongho SsangYong Yega construction site in Busan. The flag will get to the headquarters at the end of November after being relayed to 36 sites in Busan, Gyeongsang, Chungcheong, Jeolla, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Incheon, and Seoul every week.

During the campaign period, the construction site receiving the flag is expected to have an intensive safety management period and implement numerous programs including the labor-management safety check, safety training for partners, emergency drills, technical safety training sessions, workers’ health check-ups, and designation of a Clean-Up Day.

Cho Hyun, SsangYong E&C director said, “As all field workers, partners, and technical workers are spontaneously participating in the annual campaign held for the first time in the industry, we have high expectations for the effects of the campaign. We will accomplish this year’s safety goal of achieving zero construction accidents at all costs.”

In the meantime, SsangYong E&C has shown one of the top safety management performances in the industry, recording zero fatal construction accidents in 2010, and ranking second in terms of its accident free ratio in 2011.
