Ssangyong, Won the Contract for the Construction of LE Nouvel@KLCC in Malaysia

Ssanyong Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd (Chairman and CEO, S. Joon Kim) announced that it won the contract for the construction of LE Nouvel@KLCC designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel in Malaysia at 127 million dollars or 136.5 billion Korean won.

Jean Nouvel won the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2008, which can be said as a Nobel Prize in the architecture industry. He is one of the top five architects with his sensible design using light reflected by glass or iron. He is called the“master of light”. His representative works include the Louvre Abu Dhabi museum, Arab World Institute, Paris, Barcelona Agfa Tower, and Samsung Leeum Museum.
LE Nouvel@KLCC is a luxurious serviced apartment with 197 households. 43 and 47 story buildings, which will be constructed on the opposite side of the Petronas Twin Tower in a busy district of Kuala Lumpur, and will be completed in Aug. 2014

The Glass Printing method was used to install the Curtain Wall with a vine pattern on it and places where hedging plants can be grown are placed on each floor to make the building look like a building shrouded in hedging plants from different angles and light.
The 23m- long Sky Bridge, which weighs 30 tons, connecting the 34th floor of each building, will be constructed with glass and aluminum frame to make the bridge a new landmark in Kuala Lumpur along with the Petronas Twin Towers.
Four types of net area from 163.42㎡ (49 pyung) to 436.55㎡(132pyung) will be provided and the selling price per 3.3㎡ (1pyung) is about 26 to 32 million won, about 30% higher than other nearby high-end houses.

The owner of the project is Hartamaju Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Singapore real estate developer, Wingtai Asia Group.

An official of Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd said, “Ssangyong competed with top construction companies in Singapore, but Ssangyong’s technology and reputation are well recognized by project owners after the completion of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore.”
“We plan to expand our overseas high-end architecture markets to Northeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Russia,” he added.

Since its first entry into the Malaysian market by winning the construction of the Wikiki condominium in 1982, Ssanyong Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd has conducted projects including the Shah Alam Tower Center, Sarawak Mosque, Kuching Inner Sports Complex, Menara Landmark Hotel, Selayang Hospital, Suasana Sentral Condominium,and The Penggawa Housing Development.
