From Dec. 28 to Jan. 2, Chairman & CEO, Kim, S. Joon of Ssangyong E&C, who is famous for spending his time during the end of the year with his employees working at overseas sites, will visit the highway construction site in India where finishing works are underway.

The reason why Chairman Kim has visited the site in India for five consecutive years is that the Indian site is the most remote among the ten overseas sites of Ssangyong E&C. To visit the Indian site, one has to spend over 26 hours in cars and airplanes.

What is unique about his visit this year is that his schedule includes business activities on Dec. 29 to 30 including meeting with local businesses including Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation, who are preparing for a large-scale project.

An official from Ssangyong E&C said “We have accumulated knowhow by constructing a 270 km-long highway, secured excellent employees and state-of-the-art equipment in India”. “His visit to India this time indicates his willingness to strengthen the strategy for India, which will place an order for social infrastructure projects worth USD 100 billion by 2016”, he added.

Since he became Chairman & CEO of Ssangyong E&C in 1983, he has put priority on opening the new year with employees who have been working hard on overseas sites. So he has visited overseas sites every year.

When he visited a plant in Iran in 1992, he had to transfer airplanes five times a day and on Thanks Giving Day in 1986, he visited ten sites in three countries recording 54 hours in planes and cars during his 3-day business trip schedule.
