Ssangyong receives bronze prize at safety promotional session

On July 2, the Ssangyong Yega Apartment Jobsite (Project Manager: Choi Yeong-chul) in Taepyeong-dong, Daejeon won the bronze prize at a presentation of exemplary cases of safety activities carried out by construction jobsites.
The event sponsored by the Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency (KOSHA) and the Ministry of Labor was held at the COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. Ssangyong Eng & Const was selected as one of those that qualified for the final presentation held on June 12.
The prize-winning jobsite carries out safety activities systematically, adopting relevant standards and encouraging employees to have an innovative sense concerning safety. It sets an example for other jobsites in the region to follow. Activities carried out include keeping a record of interviews with individual employees, inviting employees’ family members to assure them of safety measures taken, presentation of birthday gifts and encouraging subcontractors to be engaged in voluntary safety activities.
The jobsite was also selected as an exemplary jobsite for voluntary safety management by the Ministry of Labor, Daejeon Office in November 2006.
