Ssangyong E&C will lead project to construct integrated facilities for processing livestock farming waste and sewage

2007-01-08

On January 8, a consortium led by Ssangyong E&C won a project to construct integrated facilities for processing both livestock farming waste and sewage, in the amount of KRW 17.4 billion ( Ssangyong’s stake is 51 percent of, or KRW 9 billion ). The project is hosted by the Incheon Metropolitan City General Construction Headquarters.

The project involves construction of large-scale integrated sewage treatment facilities (1,780 tons/day), far bigger than general waste facilities (100-tons/day), inside the Gajwa Water and Environment Management center site in Seo-gu, Incheon. The project is scheduled to take three months to complete, after groundbreaking. The acquisition of the project is especially significant in that the Company won the project by beating bigger rivals only three months after it formed an environment project team under the Civil Business and Construction Division, and that the Company has secured a new project in the field of livestock farming waste treatment facilities. More importantly, it will help the Company gain an upper hand in winning other environment facility projects in the future.
