Tower Palace (The most expensive apartment complex in Korea) of Gangbuk, Tallest Twin-tower Mixed-use Apartment Complex in Central Seoul

- 90 percent of apartments commanding a view of Namsan; over 80 percent of spaces allotted to residential use… 236 homes with sizes ranging from 175 to 304㎡ each up for grabs
- Hoehyeon-dong embracing massive redevelopment work underway, Transforming into top residential area in Gangbuk
- Center of shopping, culture, diplomacy, and socializing in Seoul… urban convenience facilities in harmony with nature

A high-rise mixed-use apartment complex will be constructed in Hoehyeon-dong to represent Gangbuk in Seoul. SsangYong (Chairman: KIM Suk-joon) said on February 2 that it has put up for public sale 236 units at “Namsan Platinum” consisting of two apartment buildings of 33 stories each, the tallest building within the Four Gates area (central Seoul) at Hoehyeon-dong 18-1, Jung-gu, Seoul.

The apartments for sale are 58 units of each of following sizes: 175㎡-unit , 195㎡-unit, 201㎡-unit, and 215㎡-unit. There are also two units sized 277㎡ and another two units of 304㎡. These units are priced at 17 to 23 million won per square meters for apartments at lower levels, and 19 to 25 million won per square meters for those at levels above 18th floor.

Hoehyeon-dong is an area that is being transformed into an upscale residential area where diverse convenience facilities co-exist in harmony with nature. Here, high-rise mixed-use apartment buildings are constructed one after another under an urban redevelopment plan, while Namsan is being developed into an urban green space where people can walk to enjoy nature.

Notably, in the apartment complex, the first floor of the apartment buildings come with pilotis, while 90 percent of the apartments command a view overlooking Namsan, because high-rise buildings are not allowed in sections between the complex and Namsan due to building height restriction.

Also, residents can use Namsan Park and a jogging track conveniently through a walking path leading to the park in the rear of the complex. They also have access to diverse upscale convenience facilities, including a clubhouse, a guesthouse, a fitness center, an indoor golf driving range, a sauna, a yoga gym, and a coin laundry, as well as an unmanned door-to-door delivery system. In addition, 80 percent of all spaces are allocated for residential use.

The complex offers good public transportation, since it is located close to Myeongdong Station and Hoeyeon Stations of Subway Line 4, and has easy access to and from Gangnam and Gangbuk through Toegye-ro and Banpo-ro streets, and Namsan tunnels No. 1 and 3.

Also, residents will enjoy convenient urban life because the complex is adjacent to shopping areas, including Shinsegae and Lotte department stores, Myeong-dong shopping district, and Namdaemun Market; cultural facilities, including Gyeongbok-gung Palace, Deoksu-gung Palace, Sejong Center for Performing Arts, National Theater, cultural centers for embassies, Namsan Library, Namsan Tower, and Namsan Hanok Village.

A SsangYong official said “Upscale apartments in mixed-use apartment complexes within central Seoul are becoming rare in the wake of a string of anti-realty speculation policies announced recently by the government.” He added that “Massive attention is being focused on the four penthouses of 277㎡ and 304㎡, even before they are put up for sale.”

Namsan Platinum consists of two buildings with seven underground levels, and 33 stories each, and will be completed in July 2010.
