Ssangyong E&C qualified for execution drawing of Seoul City Office building extension

On April 13, the Public Procurement Service selected Ssangyong’s consortium as the eligible party for execution drawing of Seoul Metropolitan Government building extension.
Ssangyong E&C formed a consortium with Samsung Corporation and SK E&C and came out with victory in the design-build based project with the winning bid of KRW 142.2 billion (Ssangyong’s share: 20%)
This project is to keep the existing main building and reconstruct its annex buildings. The consortium will build facilities for public services whose total floor space is 88,050㎡, and civil engineering, landscaping, mechanical, electrical, IT and firefighting system works are on the way.
The shape of this 21-story intelligent building will be traditional Korean porcelain in order to express the image of Seoul as an emerging world-class city. Basement floors will accommodate a multi-purpose auditorium and a conference room. The top floor will accommodate a sky lounge large enough to host a banquet.
The offices in the four different locations will be centralized and their operational efficiency is expected to be enhanced. The construction will be commenced on May 2006 and completed on October 2009.
