Ssangyong E&C-led consortium wins turnkey based Namgang Dam sewage facility expansion project.

On March 7, the consortium led by Ssangyong E&C won the sewage facility expansion project at the upper reach of Namgang Dam in South Gyeongsang from the Environment Management Corporation (EMC) for KRW 79.2 billion(Ssangyong’s share: 50%) on a turnkey basis. The consortium of Ssangyong, Shindongah, Heunghan, Hanbando and Geumjin, gained winning point of 93.48 defeating Kumho E&C and SK E&C.

The project is a composition of civil engineering, architecture, landscape, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and it is significant for the Company as it was the first victorious result of concerted efforts made by the Civil Engineering Division and Architecture Division.

The project expands the sewage treatment/sewer piping system for upper reaches of Namgang Dam, and constructs sewage treatment stations in Sancheong, Hadong, Euiryeong and Sacheon in Gyeongsangnamdo to control the quality of waters from Namgang Dam. It includes constructions of two sewage treatment stations with the capacity of 1,500㎥/day(ShinanㆍDansung) and 600㎥/day(Shicheon), and 135.5km-long sewer pipes linking 30 areas, improvement (7 places), 100 pumping stations and establishment of an integrated management center for the Sancheong Sewage Treatment Station.

SBR, SNR techniques and Ssangyong’s KSMBR technique designated as an environmental-friendly new technology will be applied in the project. As well, an herbal park will be created at the sewage treatment station in Sinan/Danseong and a dried persimmon production site will be built in Sicheon in consideration of environmental factors. The project period is for 48 months.
