Ssangyong wins “turn-key” construction bid for medical center for the elderly

2005-12-19

Ssangyong E&C said it has succeeded in clinching a bid for a turn-key construction project, the first ever in its history. It started a taskforce for the business just six months ago.

A consortium led by Ssangyong E&C won a KR\ 30.6 billion contract on December 2, 2005 to build clinic centers for the elderly in the city of Seongnam, south of Seoul for the National Procurement Service.

The construction is intended to provide better medical service to the senior citizens suffering from dementia and other illnesses. South Korea is rapidly becoming an aging society.

The project completion is due in 780 days from the commencement, the company said.

Ssangyong E&C has paved the way for its advance into the turn-key project in the architectural sector by winning the contract, market watchers said.
