Ssangyong Engineering and Construction Co., a South Korean building contractor, announced that it would sell 219 out of 635 units of apartments to be built in Mapo, western Seoul, starting Dec. 9.

The apartments on the selling block include 102 out of 155 units of 25-pyeong apartments (11.1~12.5 million won per pyeong), 45 out of 408 units of 32-pyeong apartments (13.5~14.4 million won per pyeong) and 72units of 45-pyeong apartments (13.8~15.3 million won per pyeong) with the remaining apartments being set aside for the union members of redevelopment, the company said. (1 pyeong = 3.3㎡)

The company said it would help arrange bank loans for purchasers without charging interest for the financial help. Purchasers will be allowed to make their partial payment until the key to the apartment is handed over, it added.

To be located in the northern part of Seogang Bridge and across Yeouido, the apartment complex stands out due to its convenient transportation access with two subway lines only 20 meters (Line 6 Gwangheungchang Station) and 800 meters (Line 2 Shinchon Station) away.

Particularly, the apartments will be built at the center of bustling development areas encompassing Yeouido, Mapo, Sangam and Kimpo. Its neighboring Ahyeon and Hapjeong have been designated as special zones for new town and balanced development.

Nearby, there are Hangang Park, Yeouido Park, Seoul World Cup Stadium, and other various leisure facilities. Residents will be able to enjoy shopping at Shichon Hyundai Department Store and Grand Department Store. Severance Hospital and Yeonsei University, Seogang University, Hongik University, and Ehwa Woman’s University are also located in the neighborhood.

The company said that the new apartments would boast diverse environment-friendly features. First of all, such environment-friendly materials as clay bricks and lawn will be used with 35 percent of the total space being reserved for landscape.

Each unit will be provided with a water purifier, kitchen ventilation system, water-saving valve, home automation, sound insulating floor and other features with finishing materials to be reserved as an option so that the customers can save their expenses.

Occupancy of the 15 units of the 15-story apartments (with 2-stories below ground) will start in October 2007, the company said.
