On October 6th, SsangYong E&C held its largest Safety Innovation Resolution Conference since its foundation in its headquarters and construction sites.

All executives, employees and site workers attended this memorable event. Various activities, including safety innovation management debates, guest lectures, on-site safety management plan reports, zero accident resolution and other events were held at the headquarters while the Safety Innovation Resolution Conference and joint safety checks with subcontractors took place at the project sites.

Through this event, SsangYong E&C plans to establish a Safety Committee composed of executives and a Special Safety Inspection Team with experienced personnel to take responsibility for daily safety inspections at construction sites. The teams, collaborating with the headquarters’ Safety Innovation Team and Construction Team, will also be carrying out random inspections on weekends.

It also plans to strengthen the Pre-work Permit System (PTW), which obligates hazardous work site to obtain approval before proceeding with projects, and increase safety counseling with external experts and agencies for inspections. SsangYong also plans to offer incentives for subcontractors through safety assessments to manage a win-win safety program.

On October 30th, Mr. Suk-Joon Kim, the CEO of SsangYong E&C, had expressed his determination for safety management by sending text messages to employees emphasizing the importance of achieving zero accidents through safety management.
