Sumatera East Coast Highway (CA-2), Indonesia awarded to Ssangyong

After elapse of more than one year''''s post- tender period, Sumatera East Coast Highway Package CA-2, a U$ 18.8 million project has finally been awarded to Ssangyong E&C by the Directorate General of Regional Inrastructure, Ministry of Settlement and Regional, Government of the Republic of Indonesia.
The 70% finance come from Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) with the remainder by the Government of Indonesia covers 60km highway upgrading and improving project linked Way Jepara to Seputih Banyak in Lampung province, Sumatera Island. The construction period is 26 months from the date of commencement, falling on December 16, 2002.
The selection as the Main Contractor by the client mainly owes to Ssangyong’s proven records of quality construction and reliability manifested through the successful performance over similar road & highway projects in Indonesia including two projects ; JBIC Heavy Loaded Road, Package BP-02 (Prombanan ~ Klatan) Project at its handover stage and ongoing Manado Bypass Project.
