The Ambassador Seoul Pullman in Jangchung-dong Is Reborn as a World-Class Luxury Hotel

2022-03-30

Ssangyong E&C, the top remodeling contractor in the country, has announced that it has completed a two-year renovation of The Ambassador Seoul Pullman located in Jangchung-dong, Seoul. This upgrade has transformed the property into a luxury five-star hotel.

The most noticeable changes are the top-floor function room - which accommodates diverse festive events while offering a panoramic view of Namsan Mountain, Inwangsan Mountain, Bukhansan Mountain and the city's other landmarks - and the outdoor swimming pool on the fourth floor that features a retractable glass roof. With these new highlights allowing for more flexible operation that caters to all seasons and weather conditions, the hotel is expected to become Seoul's latest attraction.

The new stylish curtain walls made of glass and metal panels have completely transformed the hotel's exterior as well, giving it a unique look and feel. Similarly, the fitness center, sauna, indoor swimming pool and other facilities have undergone major renovations to add grandeur to the hotel's interior spaces.

In the lobby, a newly installed gigantic display wall (W: 821 cm, L: 257 cm) features "The Light of Geumgang" by Lee Lee Nam, a renowned media artist, thereby highlighting the elegant ambience of this uniquely Korean luxury hotel.

"Ssangyong E&C is Korea's leader in apartment remodeling. The firm also has an outstanding track record in the renovation of high-end buildings at home and overseas," a company official said. "Our proven performance and strong client confidence have allowed us to be ed twice as the sole contractor by the same client over a period of 20 years."

Indeed, back in 2001, Ssangyong E&C successfully completed the hotel's exterior renovation. Then, in 2020, upon the client's request, the company achieved the uncanny feat of conducting the hotel's overall remodeling once again - 20 years after its initial involvement.

When it comes to building renovation, Ssangyong E&C's reputation overseas has long preceded its reputation at home. For instance, in 1991, the company completed, to perfection, the restoration and redevelopment of Raffles Hotel, the most treasured and historically significant hotel in Singapore, despite the lack of technical blueprints. Similarly, in 1999, the company received an award from Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) in recognition of its outstanding renovation of Capital Square Office Building Parcel-E.
