At a ceremony attended by 2,000 people

On October 13, Ssangyong E&C (Chairman · Kim Suk-jun) held a ceremony of promulgating the corporate vision, an athletes meet and a concert for Ssangyong employees’ family members at the Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps (KAFAC) in commemoration of the 30th anniversary, which falls on October 18, with about 2,000 attending, including Company President Kim Byung-ho.

At the session, the Company promulgated the corporate vision of “a Global Partner that creates the best possible space value” along with the slogan of ‘Create, Ssangyong!’ and detailed business targets, i.e. ▶ reinforcement of development projects, ▶ building strength in new projects in overseas industrial plants, power generation, environment and development of mineral resources, ▶ expansion of overseas projects and ▶ selective promotion of existing business.

The Company set the goal of reaching the No.7 position in Korea by 2015, with 9 trillion in orders won, 7 trillion won in sales and 7 percent in operating profit ratio.

At the session, Chairman Kim Suk-jun Chairman said, “Ssangyong E&C has overcome various hardships over the past 30 years. As a construction firm, we have talented human resources and outstanding performance records. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary, let’s refresh our resolve for a new jump forward with a new strategy that can cope with changes in the industry.”

During his speech, Labor Union Representative Kim Sung-han said, “It was a great experience to see that the Company overcame the overriding difficulty with the concerted efforts of the employees and their family members. The Labor Union will do its best to help the Company carry out the forthcoming M&A successfully.”

The 2,000 attendees, including employees’ family members, representatives of subcontractors, had a good time, enjoying the various programs, showing that they were willing to be united as one.
