Cementing ties with LG CNS in information technology and construction sectors

On October 30, Ssangyong E&C (Chairman: Kim Suk-jun) held a ceremony in the 10th floor conference room, for opening the ERP system, with about 50 people attending, including Ssangyong E&C Chairman Kim Suk-jun, President Kim Byung-ho, LG CNS (program developer) President Shin Jae-chul and Vice President Kim Do-hyun. The next-generation ERP system was developed and stabilized over 14 2 months.

At the event, Ssangyong E&C and LG CNS exchanged plaques of appreciation. It is exceptional that a system developer expresses appreciation to the client.

Ssangyong Chairman Kim Suk-jun presented a plaque of appreciation for the program developer’s successful establishment of the system in such a short period. He also proposed that the two companies cooperate with each other in sectors combining information technology with construction, such as U-City, using the momentum gained from the successful establishment of the ERP system.

For his part, LG CNS President Shin Jae-chul presented a plaque of appreciation to Ssangyong, saying that it finished the work in only 14 months thanks to the commitment and cooperation of the top management and employees of Ssangyong E&C.

The next-generation ERP system was opened in July 2007 for process innovation both at headquarters and jobsites with the focus on reinforcement of the functions of provision of management information and support and document-related securities, enhanced convenience and efficiency, and the sharing of information.

Other features include adoption of the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) instead of the existing CBS (Cost Breakdown Structure) in the drawing up of implementation budgets, automated calculation of in-stock materials by jobsite and item, which will make it possible to purchase materials based on the scheme provided by the system, and establishment of the account processing system using no evidential documents or transfer slips related to the use of corporate cards and adoption of virtual accounts in management of funds received from apartment prices.

The ERP system will be linked to the PMIS system, operating the Post-ERP Team for development of a linkage system and system upgrades.
