On July 6, Lee Sang-don (Project Manager for the Han River Water System Sewage Pipe Refurbishment Work) of Ssangyong Eng & Const received a prize from the Construction Minister at a ceremony commemorating the 16th Road Day.

Lee made extraordinary efforts to minimize vehicle drivers’ inconvenience by helping vehicles use a detour instead of closing the road to traffic while carrying out the work for the Gangbyeongbukno (riverside road on the north side of the Han River) (the Cheongdam Br.-Seongsu Br.section) used by more than 260,000 vehicles a day. He also completed the work within the schedule despite unfavorable climatic conditions during the rainy season in summer and the cold season in winter. He is also said to take humanitarian care of the less privileged by letting as many homeless people as possible work at his jobsite.

The ceremony held to commemorate the 16th Road Day, i.e. July 7 (which falls on the completion day of the Seoul-Busan Highway) was attended by 1,200 people, including Korea Road & Transportation Association (KRTA) Chairman Sohn Hak-rae and Construction Minister Lee Yong-sup.
