2007-03-19

The consortium led by Ssangyong Construction won the bid for the construction of new pure water reservoir for Gumi Regional Waterworks - Phase 1 posted by the Gyeongbuk Regional Office, Korea Water Resources Corporation, for KRW5.8 billion (Ssangyong holding a 70% stake, or KRW4 billion) on March 19th.

The project includes the construction of two units of pure water reservoirs (30m x 55m x 3.5m) in the premise of Gumi Water Purification Plant in Gyoepyeong-ri of Goah-eup, Gumi-shi, Gyeongbuk. The project will take 18 months to be completed from the groundbreaking.

Pure water reservoir is a water purification facility applicable for the final stage that controls and moderates the unbalance between the filtered water and water outflow volumes and prepares against the operation halt caused by water quality abnormality, facility inspection, and accident.

Once this project is completed, sufficient time for water holding would be secured for the water purification site to enable the stable water supply.
