Ssangyong Engineering & Construction was selected as a “builder of excellence for 2006” by the Korea Rail Network Authority, and won an award on December 27. The honor is awarded to builders of excellence that are selected through comprehensive assessment of quality, safety, and environment management of the projects they conduct, among all the projects hosted by the Korea Rail Network.

Ssangyong E&C clinched the award because it earned high points in assessment for smoothly completing a project to build a dual track electric railway between Ori and Jukjeon (Site manager: executive director Namgung Sang) despite frequent changes in architectural design, and thoroughly following the required process, and safety principles since the groundbreaking in September 2002.

By winning the award, Ssangyong E&C once again has proven its capacity to execute railroad projects, which are mostly large-scale national projects. The Company also gets one extra point in project quality credit in future assessment of builders’ qualification for projects to be hosted by the Korea Rail Network Authority for one year.
