Corporate Social Responsibility, Going Global!

As localization strategies designed to better enter the overseas markets becomes more and more important these days, one Korean construction company, which is performing social responsibility activities in other countries, draws attention.

Ssangyong E&C (President & CEO, Kim, S. Joon) said that it donated 10,000 books jointly with the Council on Sending Books to Ethnic Koreans Living Overseas to the Korea International School in Singapore.

The Managing Director of the Singapore Branch of Ssangyong E&C, Ahn, Kook-Jin (53) said, “I hope that this donation will be an opportunity to raise their patriotism to their mother country”.

Choi, Se-Yong, Head of the Public Relations Team of Ssangyong E&C mentioned, “our corporate social responsibility activities, which have been limited to Korea, will be broadened to other countries by linking our activities to our overseas localization strategy”.

The Council on Sending Books to Ethnic Koreans Living Overseas, which was established in 2001, has purchased or received books written in Korean and donated a total of 700,000 books to ethnic Koreans living in 30 countries including Argentina and Singapore.
