Ssangyong “Oboe Hills,” the first townhouse in Pyeongchang-dong, the richest village in the Korean capital of Seoul, made its public debut ahead of its dedication scheduled for mid-June.

Living up to its reputation as a housing project designed by the world-renowned architect Itami Jun, who earned a reputation for his design of the Podo Hotel in Jeju Island, Oboe Hills showcases the unique style of ‘scenery architecture’ as the entire complex is constructed in a harmonious fashion that reflects the philosophy of “coexistence of nature, humans and houses,” rather than the beauty of individual homes.

Moreover, the houses come with grass-covered gardens measuring 69~189 sq. meters and a terrace of up to 90 sq. meters per household, while the complex is arranged along the decline of a hill to present the mood of single-family houses.

Every home, complete with two stories and two underground stories, in the complex comes with an elevator, while a parking lot that can accommodate four to five cars per household is available on underground level 2.

A separate dressing room and a sub master room that includes a bathroom have been designed to cater to the needs of not only families of parents and children but also visting guests.

The first and second floors are decorated with living spaces, including a spacious living room, standing over 2.7 meters high to the ceiling, bedrooms, a kitchen, and bathroom. The bathroom containing a Hinoki bath made of a cypress tree allows the family to relax, while appreciating the natural scenery of the surroundings.

The rooftop has a garden of sedum and bush trees that bloom flowers and stay green throughout the year, which increases the cooling efficiency and heat insulation. Sunkeun Garden and a park have also been installed in the complex, which residents can use for parties and social gatherings.

A Ssangyong Engineering & Construction official said, “Oboe Hills has been built at a location that is considered excellent according to the theory of divination based on the topography of the site. The site is shaped like a golden hen brooding over eggs.” He added, “We have received a string of visits by potential customers, including entrepreneurs, the self-employed, cultural experts and artists, and famous celebrities ahead of its dedication.”

Homes at the Oboe Hills, which beautifully harmonizes the advantages of both single family houses and communal homes, cost KRW 3 billion to KRW 3.6 billion per unit and are set to be completed in mid-June.
