Ssangyong Wins Project to Construct Shinsuro Water Breakers, Shore Banks in Sokcho

Ssangyong Engineering and Construction won a 17.67522 billion-won project (Ssangyong’s stake amounting to 12.72616 billion won, or 80 percent) for the construction of Shinsuro water breakers and shore banks in Sokcho, Gangwon Province, on March 17. The project was tendered by the Public Procurement Service. The project entails the construction of 270 meter-long water breakers, 80 meter-long shore banks, and 193.3 meter-long shore and other facilities. The project will take 36 months to complete following the groundbreaking.

Meanwhile, the company has built up diverse achievements in the area of port construction, including a project for the construction of shore banks for disposal of dredged soil at Shinseondae Pier in Busan in May 2006, a shore bank construction project in Daepo-hang port in North Gyeongsang Province, and the phase 1 project for the construction of a scenic tourist port in Seoguipo, Jeju Island in October 2007.
