Director Weol-ho Shin of the Technology Development Division, Ssangyong Construction, received a medal at the Home Network Industry Development Award for Excellence Ceremony held on the third floor of Renaissance Hotel on February 22.

Director Shin had led the “Smart Home Co-op Development Research” in joint effort with the Graduate School of Techno Design, Gookmin University, since October 2004 until March 2005. Also, he published three papers on HN Focus, which is a specialized periodical of Home Network Association. His tireless effort to contribute to the development of the home network industry in Korea has been reflected through the activities as a Home Network Forum Construction Certification Committee member as well.

Most notably, Shin participated in the Government-Certified Home Network Standard Terminal Box Development Project led by Ssangyong Construction, and he listed the research outcome with the Institute of Information Technology Advancement. His accomplishments put him at the center of the company’s effort to solidify Ssangyong Construction’s presence as a major construction company among 125 member companies.

Korea Home Network Industry Association under the supervision of the Ministry of Information Technology has introduced the Home Network Certification System starting in 2007. Many construction companies are expected to incorporate the Home Network System into their basic specification packages.
