Winning records abroad last year Ssangyong E&C tops out four countries with eight awards

Quantitative growth as well as qualitative growth in construction companies which have won contracts valued at 64.9billion dollars
Ssangyong E&C was the one with the most awarded (eight awards) followed by Hyundai Construction. This shows Ssangyong E&C proved how its improvement in technology evolved from simple construction.

It showed that domestic construction companies have improved, not only quantitatively, but also qualitatively by reaching 64.9 billion dollars in winning contracts overseas last year.
The companies have been acknowledged internationally for their worldwide competitiveness by winning prestigious awards in a variety of areas such as construction, safety, and design according to the International Constructors Association of Korea.

Ssangyong E&C became a constructor with the most awards by winning eight awards in four countries last year. It has shown a variety of winning records: IDEA 2012 in the U.S. (bronze medal), ROSPA Award 2012 in the U.K., RedDot Design Award 2012 in Germany as well as the BCA grand construction prize in Singapore for Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore.

Hyundai Construction, which topped the ranking in winning overseas construction contracts, won four awards in two countries by winning the BCA grand construction prize and the 2012 CRRA (second prize). Moreover, many other construction companies won the awards: In a quality award ceremony from the Middle East Economic Journal, MEED, Samsung Engineering won the best prize and the Daewoo Construction World Travel Award in India, Samsung Construction BCA grand construction prize in Singapore, SK Construction Project Finance International in the U.K., Posco Construction BIM & Safety Competition in Singapore, and the Keumho Construction Vietnamese government insignia.

Officials from the International Constructors Association of Korea said that now domestic construction companies are being acknowledged for their capability in cutting edgy construction technology, safety, and design.
